What Wattles...?  is about the type of the Silkie comb.
It was in the first week of March I suddenly saw on photos and real life non-bearded Silkies that lots of them have very small, rudimentary or absent wattles which went along with a dewlap as seen on Brahma. I ran through my archive of Winners of the past years and ‘discovered’ this wattle-issue is ignored for years. I combined a few things like what happens when you cross a n-b Silkie (for fresh blood) to a bearded: oh gosh, the wattles disappeard ‘due to Mb’, is what breeders told me. Well, Mb gone, wattles back was my idea. Nope, they wouldn’t come back so something of Mb was left behind? I couldn’t bake a cake of this and started to read (standard), observe, ask around and the below 19 page article with almost 100 photos is the result.
